What icing experiences have others encountered? There is not much definitive information regarding the effect of icing on laminar flow surfaces. Most comments re to the effect that laminar flow wings are severely sensitive to deformation from icing, hence more dangerous in ice than the general fleet. This is intuitive, and although intuitition is more often correct than wrong I am always skeptical of conclusions based on intuition alone. One of the many wonderful attributes of Lancairs is we can usually get above the problem. But there still must have been many icing encounter experiences nonetheless. I'm not from the FAA, cross my heart, and I'm sure all encounters were inadvertant anyway, so what were your experiences? What were mine? Unfortunately never more than a trace and that in a 182 TRG so I have nothing worthwhile to contribute.
