Thanks to Brent R again, after 3 weeks of delay we got the new fuel
probe and the expensive fluorosilicone and tapped carefully the female
end and 24 hrs later (fingers crossed) we tested the wing and so far no
leaks. We are in the process of installing the wing again. PPG clear
coats are not fuel dye resistant (unfortunately my fuel leak revealed
this minor problem requiring repainting of the areas of leakage. Beware
of PPG paints.
regarding flap extension from Phil: the geometry of the flaps is quite
complex. We solved our problems by loosening the rods from the actuator
and individually actuating by hand each flap and carefully observing the
roller distance from the guides and by changing (slowly and carefully)
the two points of attachment to the wing reached a compromise that
minimized the friction. Lots of lubricant helped. Now our flaps come out
without much flexing of the gear box. Good luck
andres
