Why buy new silica gel?  Take your dessicator plugs apart, tap the pink
silica gel into a glass dish, and bake it in your kitchen oven at a moderate
heat for about an hour.  Cover with an old plate or something while it
cools, then fill the plugs back up, re-assemble, and re-install.  Piece of
cake.  Can be done as many times as you need.

As for the c.g. of the ES, most completed planes with the big engines
are coming up with the c.g. right near the forward end of the envelope, as I
understand from various sources.  Skip, unless your Lyc IO540 and prop are a
lot lighter than the IO-550 and prop, put everything you can as far back as
you can.  I think it would be almost impossible to move the c.g. too far aft
with installed goodies (unless for some reason you want a large stone buddha
mounted on the hat rack).
