The other problem with MC is its lack of odor. "If it smells bad it must
be bad to or health", does not apply in the case of MC. When you are using
MEK or Acetone, the smell gives you a sence of when you are being over
exposed. MC is the worst chemical wipe to our health of the three discussed.
It is my understanding that wax has not been used as a mold release by
Lancair for many years thus the advantage to MC is no longer valid. Perhaps
this should be confirmed. Outside of California, MEK is easy to get and
again is the prefered wipe for Boeing. Boeing uses MC only because
California will not let them use MEK according to my brother the chemist.
