Guys, I haven't used the CD courses but I did the King Video courses for the
writtens on both Private and Instruments. Didn't get that much out of them
but did get a lot out of a simple audio tape courses for both writtens.
Learned a lot more from the audio tape course (~24 tapes) than from the video
one. For the Instrument written, about half of the material can be covered
by just listening (e.g. while driving your car). After going through the
tape courses once, I made one pass through all the FAA questions (the King
book) and took the writtens 1-2 weeks later. Managed to score 95 on both the
Private and the Instrument exams.
The audio course is I used is by Flight-Tech (800 221-0348). It appeared
to be more or less current through early 2000. ...Clark Still (25% LIVP)
