I hope it's worth at least that much :) The IFR rating is knowledge intensive. After getting the rating, much of that knowledge you may use infrequently. I have now doubt that you can take the weekend class and pass the test on Monday. I also don't doubt you can't complete the PIC or PIC style course and get your rating in 2 weeks. What I would question is how long that knowledge that you've packed into short-term memory will be with you. IFR flying is a serious activity and requires a serious commitment to learn and remain proficient. OK, here's cent #3.... I took the weekend class as a review before my written. I felt I got the best that class had to offer in that capacity. I'd also suggest flying for a month or so towards your rating. Then polish it off with the two week intensive effort. I think the stuff will stick with you a lot better that way. You'll also learn a lot more. For example, my favorite trick learned during my IFR rating: Hit the Ident button if you think the controller has forgotten you and you're about to blow through the intercept for the approach... Seems to work every time! Any way Matt, best wishes to you. Enjoy the rating and try to enjoy getting it. I did. I hope to see you at Dogwood.
