I had a chance to quiz Carsten and check out his Legacy at the Arlington EAA
Fly-In. One of the things I checked for and found was "concave" skins on
the elevator. Carsten said they are supposed to be that shape (#63012
airfoil) and since they "are perfect" he advises against changing them. He
did say it would be a good idea to make the leading edge of the elevator the
same height as the trailing edge of the horizontal stab or a little higher.
This is the same advice I have heard from Lancair for some time.
I found the control harmony and feel on the Legacy prototype to be close
enough to "perfect" to take his word on this one.
Excuse the addition of the quote below, it just seems so appropriate to this
forum.
"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who
learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for
themselves."
