Since so much has been said about fuel systems in Lancair's, I have a few myself for those in the group willing to answer them. My cousin and myself are going to the Middle East to ferry a Lancair IV-P to the US. We have a 75 gallon ferry tank used to fly a Lancair back from New Zealand for a large safety margin. The tank sits in place of the rear seat pads and the front seat backs rest against the frame of the tank. I have provided a link to a JPEG image of how I am thinking I will plumb the tank. http://people.we.mediaone.net/freemen/images/new%20tank3.JPG If you don't get the link, ask and I'll send the image directly to you. We plan on using wing tanks for take off (and landings). Then switching to the ferry tank at cruise by turning the wing tank valve in the airplane "off" and switching on the ferry tank valve (a stock IV-P fuel valve with right side ports plugged) to "on" and turning on the added (third) boost pump as required. My questions are as follows: Does anybody see any problems with this installation that I am over looking? How might be the best place (or way) to install the vent tube? This is a pressurized plane and it would be very nice to use this feature. Might the pressurization tend to vent fuel from the ferry tank overboard? Brent Sanchez IV-P 75% with 75% to go! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
