I also agree with Pat with a header tank and sight guage as a simple, safe method. As a matter of operation, don't let the level get below say 5 or 6 gals, if a transfer pump fails you still have a half hour or so to find a rwny. (Parish the thought that both Facet Pumps fail at once, electrical failure not withstanding) Safety: I've used 1/4" polypropelene (sp) tubing chafed with electrical tape as it comes through the instrument wall, just replaced after five years in service, with no problems, still flexible, clear, and no chafed areas. As to unporting, one gal left, electric puel pump on feeding a 0-320 carb, OK. If you time your Facet transfer pumps, they are quite consistant, for instance, thirty gals takes 43 minutes to pump dry the wing tanks and bubbles in the sight guage, again polypropelene, on each transfer line to the header tank confirms they are empty. The Facet pumps speed up when pumping partial air. Therefore no need for wing tank guages. Keep it simple... Regards to all.... Don Skeele N320J a 235/O-320 at 650 hrs.
