I talked to the FSDO investigator today. He agrees with me that it is not only "possible" but "likely" that Tony would be alive with, at worst, minor injuries, if his shoulder harness had been attached. I believe he disengaged the shoulder harness in order to manipulate the fuel valve in a desperate attempt to find some more fuel when he was caught by surprise at the end. I think it is likely that when I last saw him taxi out of the ramp area, a week ago Saturday afternoon, with tanks literally dripping fuel from the vents, that Tony believed he had 78 gallons of useable fuel. I think it likely he had 10 to 16 fewer useable gallons than what he believed he had. Know your fuel capability and be careful out there.
