The next= =20 digit and letter in the suffix (like "1E" in B1E) identify accessory case an= d=20 configuration differences. If there's a 4th digit (as in C1C6) it signifies=20 the engine has the internally counterweighted crankshaft for absorption of=20 torsional excitation. "6" (as in IO-360-C1C6) means it has a 6th and 8th=20 order couterweight. "5" (like on an IO-540-K1A5) means 5th and 8th order. If= =20 it has a 5th letter ("D") it means the engine has one of those stupid dual=20 magnetos (as in IO-360-A1B6D). BTW, I have NEVER had an unmodified "200 HP"= =20 Lyc on my dyno that actually produced 200 HP (SAE, corrected to 59=B0F, 29.9= 2=20 in. hg.). You might ask this guy in NY just how he determined 205 HP out of=20 his B1E. (220 is do-able at 2700 on a straight-valve engine, but with lots o= f=20 changes and skill. Lots of these claims are wet-thumb estimates based on=20 wishful thinking.
