OK, I'll admit that due to my not so secret past - I LOVE 2 STROKES.  However, I really hate the dykes rings that Rotax use.  So much so that I'll be using an aircooled Kawasaki 440 snowmobile engine on my miniMax.  The miniMax is 80 complete with 90% to go (honest - right Ed).  My problem (other than finding the time to finish the airplane) is the Mickey Mouse redrive; I think that I'm going to need some engineering help on this thing before I dare fly it.

Much as I hate to say it, you will probably be better off with a more common UL motor for this one.

Thanks to everyone for the info.  Looks like you're probably right about the 2-stroke for the Airbike, probably a 503.

Cheers,
Rusty (Airbike wing kit materials shipped today)

I concur.  I've been looking for a good replacement for my 503  (Kolb Twinstar) for years.  When it flys again, it will probably be with the 503 that has powered it for 800 hours.
