Mine are the non turbo rotors. I forget what the ratio is. 
 
I've been wiping the pipes with acetone. Now I'm trying a little RTV under the connector.
 
No, it was a different joint each time. The first time one blew I think I disturbed a joint that I didn't redo. The second time I redid all the joints and remade the pipes to get a better fit. This time it was a wide clamp that was too far towards the edge of the hose. All of these issues could be [have been] avoided by getting a good fit, having ribs on the pipes, and using 3 inch connectors.
 
It's no problem when the hose blows. It just flies like a Cessna and I have lots of hours in them. :)
