We compromised by mounting the injector as far from the cylinder head as possible while still maintaining the safety afforded by keeping the fuel downstream of the butterfly.  
 
Clearly, they didn't have 30 inches of runner to work with :-)
 
I just ordered some plugs to cap off the holes in their TB, and they wanted to know why I wasn't using their injector locations.  Besides the fact that it won't fit under the cowl on intake #3, I informed them of just how horrid the throttle response was with the injectors so far away.  They seemed surprised, though very supportive of aircraft applications.  They were quite interested to hear the details.  Maybe that's just because I own about a zillion dollars worth of their products :-)
