Paul,

    I would suggest not putting your oil temp sensor at that location.
There is very little flow there and furthermore indications are that the oil
the metering pump sees at that location is at very low (atmospheric
pressure) at that point.  Also, no one knows what temperature (as measured
there) would correspond to the oil temp limit measure at the recommend
spot -after the oil cooler and before the oil re-enters the block.
