Kelly, I was thinking about doing the same thing and
greatly reducing the size of the nose airscoops.
Have you given any thought to that this will  do to
the aerodynamics of the nose?  John made some noise
about Tom Bauer having some problems when he
switched his engine air intake from the bottom  to
one of the nose openings, but it was never clear
what that problem was.
