Subject: [FlyRotary] Rusty's 3rd intake progress

Greetings all,

Attached are a few pics of where I stand on intake #3.  I'm quite happy with the fit, and hope I don't screw it all up with the TIG welder.  The inside is actually a better shape than what you see on the outside, and while it's not perfect, I'm quite happy with it.  On a scale of 1-10, where 10 is a perfectly smooth shape, the inside is probably an 8 now, where it was maybe a 3 before.  In the pic, you can see the injector holes that I bored in the bosses on the secondary runner.

Amazingly, the stock primary fuel rail even fits under the intake!  The old steel rails that I had fit, but have one of the hoses in the way. The aluminum rail that Kelly sent (thanks again), has banjo fittings that can be rotated.  I didn't have it at the hanger with me today, but I'm sure it will fit as is.  This is really an unexpected bonus.

I'm still hopeful of a ground run next weekend, and flight the weekend after.

Cheers,
Rusty (don't make me deploy the secret weapon, though I confirmed that it will fit <g>)
