Re: [FlyRotary] Re: RD1C to FC Housing
Hi Barry, I know that the distance from the engine block (where the bellhousing meets the engine) to the mating surface with Tracy’s RD is 7” on my installation. This is about 3” farther from Tracy’s standard mount. We also benefit from having smaller cheek cowls and have less disturbed air going into the prop.

Bulent,
The Cozy- Lycoming crowd has always been buying Judy Saber's 8" prop extension to push the prop out as far as possible from the wake of the main wing. While I understand that it's hard to generalize because the engine mount style makes a big difference, have you made any calculations about how far back the prop is pushed if you mount the RD1C on the 86-88 tranny housing? Is it roughly equivalent to the typical Lycoming O-360 on the dynafocal mount with the 8" extension?

Bulent,
I could not stand you being the only one with a long
nose (Tail in your case). My RD1C on 86-88 (FC) auto trans
bell-housing.
