For those of you interested in performance. On my last leg coming home on
my 2000 mile trip, I upped the power ( from the normal 6.5-7.5 gph cruise
which gives me around 170 MPH TAS) to 10.5 GPH fuel burn. That increased
my speed to 190 MPH TAS at 7500 MSL. So I got a 10.5% increase in airspeed
for around a 34 % increase in fuel burn at the same altitude. So for long
distances, lowereing the fuel burn gains you considerably in distance
traveled before refueling.
