Yes he did some voodoo but not at the root end. A nasa engineer pointed out
some area's that could be cleaned up, which he did and it's worked much
better.

David uses the Ivo mag. In flight adjustable so he has the best of both
worlds 9500 feet 184 mph @ 5250 rpms with a fuel burn of 7.5 gal per hour
take off at 5600 rpms in as little as 100 feet at a climb rate of 1800fpm
that can be maintained from sea level.

Yes, but didn't he do some top secret voodoo magic shaping of the root end
of the blades?  I'd love to have one of those, but I've never been convinced
that you can buy one off the shelf and have it perform well at high speeds.
It's been a while since I talked to IVO, or researched the subject, so
perhaps they've changed the shape in the past year or so.  Anyone know?
