Not a dead stick but partial power, fuel map scramble. First time happened, 3500ft over airport, test flight, didn't know what problem was, just started running very rough and loss of power, 4800rpm was a sweet spot, was able to maintain alt., was too hot/high, tried to slip RV6A to slow down, no joy, circled and landed normal. Did not know at the time that I temp. fixed rough eng. by switching to computer B that has a pre-programed fuel map. Later flight tests trying to cure MAP scramble ( with different wiring changes ) I knew what was happening so would switch to computer B, and returned to airport. David

I’m curious from any still on the list who have experienced a “dead stick” landing situation, if the propellor stopped spinning or not when the engine failed?
I also wonder if an engine has waning compression, if it would be more likely to free wheel in an engine out situation?
thanks.
