Thanks for all the inputs that helped me get to this point of having an EM2 that turns on! In the end the problem was not following Tracy’s wiring diagram in ALL ways, when I created the 15 pin D-Sub in 2009. Just cut the old out, traced and marked wires, and repinned a new D-Sub, and eureka, it works!
Now to start reading up on how to calibrate the senders, move between the screens, etc. 😎
