I have an RX-8 in my RV-7a with Tracy's EC-2 and EM-2.  Recently while cruising the engine lost some power and went into a rough mode.   It only lasted about 2 seconds and returned to smooth running as soon as I switched to the B controller.   I landed and have been running it on the ground to determine the cause.  It has occurred 3 or 4 more times and only lasts seconds.  I believe I have determined that one rotor quits firing when it runs rough.
Hi Dennis, I have not experienced that problem myself but it sounds like an intermittent problem someone else had a few years back - at that time I suggested checking to ensure the Controller Chip is securely seated in the PLCC socket of the EC2 board ... it worked ... something you can check or eliminate.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a fix?
Thanks
