I have the MicroTech ECU, and with that system, it is wired so that if there is no spark coming from the coils, the fuel pump turns off.  Probably not a bad idea, because if you have no spark, there's no need of pumping fuel into the rails.  As soon as there is spark, the pump automatically returns online.   I didn't invent this....it is standard on the MicroTech units. There is one exception....when you first turn the ignition switch on, the fuel pumps come online to pressurize the system for startup.  If, however you don't press the starter button within approximately 10 seconds, the pumps shut back off, until the starter switch is depressed, then the engine tells the ECU that it is providing spark, and the pumps come back online.   Hope this is helpful to someone?   Paul Conner
