But as for power supply. Main power is 80a alternator, modified to external B&C regulator. Backup power is 40ah starting battery. Avionics buss has small agm battery connected through switch & diode to keep avionics alive during starting. The alternator is quite heavy. But has much better bearings than lightweight alts. The battery is bigger than I needed but is nice as will turn motor over fast for starting even if partially discharged, and I needed weight in tail so it may as well be useful weight. I wont give schematics as mine grew into a mess as I= built the plane and also needs cleaning up.
But as for po= wer supply.
Main power is 80a alternator, modified t= o external B&C regulator.
Backup power is 40ah s= tarting battery. Avionics buss has small agm battery connected through swit= ch & diode to keep avionics alive during starting.
The alternator is quite heavy. But has much better bearings than lightwe= ight alts.=C2=A0
The battery is bigger than I needed= but is nice as will turn motor over fast for starting even if partially di= scharged, and I needed weight in tail so it may as well be useful weight.

Hi Guys

I=E2=80=99m reviewing our electrical system and thought as its a critical s= ystem i should get the wisdom of what other decided as far as risk.
If people have circuit diagrams that would help.
I have an electronics background.

My key questions are around:

Battery/s (single/dual) If dual - how have you implemented?
Alternator (Capacity to control - Over Voltage etc.)
Switching (How you switch the electrons on/off - I recently had a Narva Ign= ition switch failure)
Failure modes and emergency response plans

Much appreciated.
