It was from the Rotary Aviation master rebuild kit for RX8, so OEM 2 piece. Not sure if I re-installed it wrong or put in the wrong side seal, or if it was weak from the overheating previously. Not sure, lots of different reasons why it could of happened.

Looking at getting rid of the RA super seals and going back to stock OEM apex seals and side seals by the letter instead of cutting them. Only need 1 rotor, but by the time you add everything up, it's almost cheaper to buy an engine and just re-use the rotors.
