Hi Matt,

I think a couple of people have hinted at trying to set up an alternative site over the years, but nothing's ever materialized. I suspect that one of the problems is migrating the archives to any new site.

On the other hand, I'm one of the Luddite holdouts that still prefers an email 'push' to the forum format. Enduring Yahoo's various disasters and the continuing commercial (and political) bias of privately controlled sites like the RV forum makes me always grateful for email lists like those supplied by Matt Dralle (Matronics) and to Marvin Kaye, who won't even respond to offers of donations to help offset its operation.

Thanks, Marv!

Charlie

Hi People

The Glasair has finally left the ground and had a successful first flight.
I’ve attached a graph of the data. OAT was 63F
I was really very pleased given our smallish 20in2 coolant inlet area and <9in2 oil inlet area for ~190hp.
The temps are a bit hot (~220F) but we didn’t go beyond 110 knots. I suspect when we get the airspeed up above 150knots into her nose we’ll see some improvement.
My hunch is we might have too much pressure in the cowl. The exit air area is approx. 30in2.

Appreciate any of your thoughts from the first flight data.

Cheers
