I had a MS set up on the Delta I built.  I added the 36-1 wheel to the balancer end fo the shaft and used two of the Ford EDIS-4 modules.  The pick-ups for the ignition were advanced 15 degrees, so that if the MS failed the EDIS modules in limp-home mode would provide a spark with 25 degrees of advance.  An extra line run from the fuel tank, through a needle valve to the intake runner would provide fuel if the injectors failed.

I still have the configuration files around someone if anyone is interested in such a setup.

I've been running a Megasquirt in my jeep for 5 years.  I love it's interface and flexibility. I use a Raspberry PI for the tuning and engine monitor.  Tracy had mentioned in the past that if he were to do it again,  he'd consider this ECM. My total investment for my jeep has been less than 1000$. I plan on dual sensors: ign hall, iat, coolant, tach, map, O2 and a single ECM. Lots of online info and support.

YMMV

Are you willing to change the trigger wheel? You could look at the Mega
Jolt (ignition only). It requires a 36-1 wheel, like Ford uses here in
the USA (might be the same down under).

If you're interested in alternatives in full injection/ignition
controllers, the Micro Squirt & Mega Squirt systems can both be set up
for a rotary. Micro Squirt will have batch fired injectors (like almost
all aftermarket systems for aviation engines). Mega Squirt can be set up
just about any way you can dream up.

The Micro Squirt controller with harness is about $400 US. The Mega
Squirt controller is about $600 US.

The car guys love them. Here's a link to an RX-7 forum page on the Mega
Squirt:
