Can anyone tell me how cast alloy 356 T6 compares to 6061 T6?  My local foundry tells me that the "yanks" are way behind in alloy classification.  Here I can get AA601 cast, but it comes out like rubber to turn.  IT has to be heat treated to T6 before it can be turned.  Once heat treated it is 7/8 the strength of 6061 T6. Any thoughts??  Neil.
