I now use a witches' brew of 50% 2stroke & 50% MMO.  I add the oil mix while the fuel is going into the tank on cross country flights. When at home, I put the oil in my jerry cans before filling.  When you have the problem you describe, turn on the fuel pump for a minute before starting and the fuel return function will mix the oil sitting at the bottom.

Greetings,

Is anyone still using MMO for their fuel additive?  I think Tracy used it for a while, but I'm not sure if he still does.  Is there a consensus of whether this stuff will do the job for us?  I add an extra 4 oz of it to the RX-7 tank at every fill, but that doesn't prove much.

The reason I ask, is that I've been using a "normal" TC-3 type oil in the plane.  I've had a problem getting it to mix well, and it sometimes wants to just sit in the low part of the tank.  I'm sure I can shake, slosh, etc the plane around enough to get it to mix, but I'd rather find something that is thinner, and will stay in solution better.  It just seems like MMO would satisfy that requirement.

Thanks,
Rusty
