Following in Tracy's footsteps, I used only MMO (1 oz per gallon) the first couple of hundred hours. Now I'm using 50/50 TC-3 and MMO oil (still 1 oz  per gallon).

Looking at the carbon build-up on rotors (first after 240 hours on MMO, most recent after 180 hours on 50/50) I didn't see much or any difference. It's really a price issue. I think if I could get MMO at same price as cheapest TC-3 I would use pure MMO.

You really don't need to go above 1 oz per gallon of any kind of oil mixture.

Greetings,

Is anyone still using MMO for their fuel additive?  I think Tracy used it for a while, but I'm not sure if he still does.  Is there a consensus of whether this stuff will do the job for us?  I add an extra 4 oz of it to the RX-7 tank at every fill, but that doesn't prove much.

The reason I ask, is that I've been using a "normal" TC-3 type oil in the plane.  I've had a problem getting it to mix well, and it sometimes wants to just sit in the low part of the tank.  I'm sure I can shake, slosh, etc the plane around enough to get it to mix, but I'd rather find something that is thinner, and will stay in solution better.  It just seems like MMO would satisfy that requirement.

Thanks,
Rusty
