It is not pleasant to taxi at the moment because the brakes have not been "conditioned" yet and I can't hold it at more than 1/2 throttle with full weight on the brakes, so differential braking is difficult and I expected more steering out of the tailwheel. Those big tires have very little rolling resistance, which will be nice, but right now with poor braking they sure don't help. When I first taxied as a tricyle gear it was at the airport so I had room to properly "condition" the brakes and the little 5x5 wheels didn't have much torque, so I really don't recall much concern. Right now it is a real challenge, but I'm confident that will improve. Oh yeah, then there's that visibilty thing! Still, I'm confident that I made the right choice and will enjoy this much more. As far as wheel pants go, I'm not going to worry about that. I'll eat the drag penalty in exchange for being able to go more places.
