Are people generally removing the low oil sensor in the bottom of the pan?  What are you replacing the plug in the sidewall with?  Just a blank plug?  Turbo/transmission oil return? Chip detector?

It seems possible to keep the low oil alarm but think there will be plenty of other indications first.
