When I first contacted them, the first thing they asked was what engine I have. I expected the usual bewilderment about the rotary but they were quite approving and commented on the smoothness of it. As Charlie mentioned the blades can be configured with 2 or 3 blades but spacer blocks are required to use for 2 blades. I carry these 2 blocks with me in the plane as incase of a minor prop strike leaving one damaged blade but otherwise ok, it could be reconfigured and then flown home for further repairs. At least that's what IVO said when he sold me the blocks. But they were cheap enough and don't weigh much. Most negative reviews about the IVO on faster aircraft never seem to mention whether it was with the standard or deep pitch blades and the few enquiries I've made went unanswered, so I suspect that they were the standard. I've read one good review that was with the deep pitch that sounded overly optimistic. But I'm so optimistic myself about the performance of these deep pitch blades that I bet $1050usd on it (That's a whole lot more Canadian $$$). But really I can't complain much as a good friend has often mentioned, he spent $10k on a CS prop to bolt onto the IO540 that he spent $45k getting rebuilt and he hasn't flown it in a year because he can't solve the cylinder cooling issues (in a BD4). He endorses my choice for a rotary as he did all the initial flight testing with me while teaching me to fly.
