My observations over the years when Subie were installed in RV-9/9A’s, was that they would consistently tip the scales weighing 70-100 lbs more than O-320s. When this was combined with the lower h.p. of the installations, which was readily reflected in lower than standard RV cruise/top speeds; many began to steer clear. Ross of SDS in Canada thought has a successful installation with a turbo to help achieve “RV” speeds in his “6A”.
