They did all the original work and were ready to sell to the public in the mid 1990's! They built the best reduction drive, and it was actually tested for torsional vibration by the guys that bought the original company. They built their "Super Light" engine that weighed less than 200 pounds and made 200 HP! Ready to fly FWF! They just deemed the cost too high for public acceptance. (It would have been comparable to the certified engines of the time.) They went back to the drawing board and did a "rotary 2.0" that was excellent using a more standard engine. The engine in the video was the result of that effort, and it runs great. It is still lighter than a comparable Lycoming of the same power level. I have nothing but admiration for those guys. I don't want to be credited for this development They worked like crazy to produce a real, and ready FWF package. Sad fact that one of the guys was killed right on the cusp of getting it to the public. My opinion is that had the guys that bought the company just started selling that package they would be a force in the experimental market today. But like so many others they wanted to change a bunch of stuff and that pushed the price way up.
