If you wan= t extended ground operations in general then YES, you will need some kind o= f intervention. I would recommend a garden hose (attached somehow) sprayin= g directly onto your radiator cores. Tune the EC2 for fuel flow - manuals says at 24" MP; take it to WOT and tun= e that data point or fuel bin. The values required between 24" and 30" MP s= hould be a smooth gradually increasing slope and the easiest portion of the= EC2 MAP to work with and the most consistent results between ground tuning= and actual flight characteristics. Tuning around the Staging Point and do= wn to idle is much more difficult and will require in-flight monitoring and= or adjustments ... For you guys in hotter climates how did you keep your engine cool long enou= gh to do some tuning? We are thinking about trying to spraying gobs of water into the radiator/s = to suck some heat out of the system. Any one got experiences of doing this? I'm just getting familiar with the EC2 and wondering how long it took some = of you to get the tuning right. I'm hoping one of the closed loop modes will greatly reduce the exercise on= ce Ive got it somewhere close.
