Greetings,
The plasma cutter is your
friend. Man, that thing slices though 1/4" stainless like butter. If
Philips lays me off as planned, maybe I'll cut the company van into pieces and
FedEx it back to them using the company account :-)
The stainless flanges weigh
2 lb 6 oz, and the Racing Beat 1/2" flange weighs 4 lb 13 oz. I didn't
really do all this for the weight savings, but I'll take a couple
pounds.
Overall progress isn't as
quick as I'd like, but rev 2 will run again before too long. The exhaust
should be finished by next weekend, then I'll only have plumbing and wiring to
go for ignition. I'll still need to make some radiator ducts before it's
ready to fly though. Most of the EM-2 harness is done, so it will be
installed before the next run.
