Subject: [FlyRotary] Re:
Start-up/Pre-flight check list
Ok, I would have sworn this has been discussed but after
searching FlyRotary for the last 30 minutes, no joy. I tried start,
start-up and check list before I thought it worth of current/new discussion.
What are y'all doing for the rotary start-up and
pre-takeoff check list items.
I am in the process of making an inclusive check list for
my plane. I know I can find check list items for lots of models, including the
Velocity. on line etc (I tend to forget the transponder...doh) but I
wish to make sure to CYA to completion of the things rotary specific, such
as switching to the "B" computer, disabling the
coils separately via the switch that works only with the B computer
as well as disabling the coils and injectors individually on both A
& B similar to a mag check in the Lyc. I have placed
a "stop" on the switch on to die....uh, I mean cold start switch as
to prevent its use in the air. What things do y'all do specifically
due to the rotary? What order and why.
I remember discussion on shut down too, but have yet to
search for that. Seems there was a lot of views on to shut the engine
down by shutting off the fuel pump v shutting off the coils v shutting off the
injectors. No one mentioned killing the master ;-).
Also, what kind of RPM drops do y'all find in these
steps. My RPM drops less when I disable the secondary's, which can make
sense with staging...or so I think.
What say ye? Discuss......
Thanks,
Chris Barber
