Rotary Power and Cooling Spreadsheet

For those of you interested I have modified the Rotary Power and Cooling spreadsheet provided to those of you who requested it in the past. This one has some additions based on requests.

Several folks have wanted to have additional engine operating parameters calculated, so I have added several new parameters in the calculated results.  These calculated results parameters now also include air flow in lbs/min as well as CFM and fuel flow in Lbm/min as well as Gallons/hour.  It still has the HP, Prop RPM, BTU rejection by radiator and oil cooler that it had before.

You can still set it up for one, two, three or any number of rotors.  The Engine parameters calculated appear to be within 5% of the real world results observed that I have been able to get from some reasonable valid data.

The cooling parameters are still rather basic but based on reports - appears to correlate well with folks using the two evaporator cores and stock oil cooler.  Sorry, just have not gotten to the point where I can modify the cooling part so that you can put in any radiator.  One of the reasons is that the K&W equations require you to know quite a bit about the parameters of your radiator/coolers beyond that normally provided by the manufacture.  I have cut up a GM evaporator core to get some of the measurements needed for the K&W equations.  I hope to have the cooling part upgraded to reflect that in the near future.

Again, you can get any HP you want by inserting the proper rpm, air/fuel ratio, altitude, OAT etc.  THAT does NOT mean you engine will produce 300 HP at 7000 rpm just because you plugged in those values.  Remember this is not a simulation but a calculation model and therefore it does not have any provision for the effect of prop load on rpm and therefore power.
