The newer hardware is better, with USB instead of serial connections, a flash card port for data logging, etc. I'm now looking at adding a serial to bluetooth adapter so that I can drive an engine instrument display on an Android device. for firmware, I have v3.1 of MS2Extra loaded. It drives an EDIS-4 ignition, and reads an Innovate LS-1 oxygen sensor. In addition to the stock IAT and CLT sensors, I added an oil temp sensor. How to do that is not explained well at all in the docs. If I were going to do it again I'd foot the bill for the GPIO port expander, so that I could record my EGTs into the same file as everything else. What kind of engine are you looking to put one on?
