Now, ask Thomas about his landing speeds....(airliners have about a 20-1 glide ratio, too).

For the Rv-6, the claimed glide ratio is 10:1, I can verify that it is at least 9.8:1 - verified by a 12 mile glide - don't ask.

I have no direct experience with EZ types, but any slick, relatively high efficiency tractor style a/c with f/p prop will go into neverland mode if idle prop rpm (on the ground) is above around 750-800. Anything above that, & it will effectively be making thrust instead of drag on final.

For the sake of comparison, what is the glide ratio of an RV?
My Long-EZ glide ratio is 19:1 (or ...... it will be once it's done.)
