Keep in mind that the higher the idle, the= harder these canards are to land. Don't listen to the RV guys - they have = flaps. Ideally you want the lowest idle you can get, that's not going to st= all the engine on final. It's worth a bit of effort to try and tune for a l= ower idle, but this is the idle with the engine being driven by the prop, w= hich is a different area on the tuning chart to the idle when stationary. Y= ou can only tune this area while airborne. I found this out when I first th= rottled back all the way on a high base, and the engine stumbled. I needed = new underwear that day.
