Guys,
I do like the Bearhawk, and my wife would love for
me to build an airplane with that kind of capacity,
however, In agreement with what several of you
mentioned, the runway needs of the aircraft are not
drastically different than a well powered RV7. I am
actually looking towards a Mackey SQ2 (for those
unfamiliar, think Super-Duper Cub) or the Just
Highlander, though not as large as I'd like, the price
is a big seller. Both have TO-Landing in the sub 200'
range. With either, I can use my yard as is, and they
will fit in my shed too. No hanger rent, no runway to
buy, no hanger rent, no drive to the airport to play, no
hanger rent.
But don't give up on me just yet. I still plan to
finish my 7. Though, I see a fellow is interested in my
engine and accessories. That helps. I am pretty sure I
could sell the airframe, the market is somewhat less
flooded with rotary engine buyers.
I appreciate all the all the well wishes, and, as I
said in the first post, this group has been a MAJOR
contributor in my build, and my certainly my
understanding of the engine and systems.
Best,
Ben
