Here is the JAZ site through Summit racing. These are cross linked polyethylene cells

in a number of shapes. Many racers mount them on their sides right behind the differential.

They move the filler neck to the upper end and blank plate the original location. There is no need for a metal can around these cells. They are rigid enough without the can. The can is required for racing.

 

Any real aircraft cell or bladder repair facility can make you a custom bladder in any shape you can imagine. It will be aircraft quality and cost a bunch. Just send them a full sized foam block in the shape you want and marked with the fill and drain port locations.

 

You might also go to your nearest NAPA store and look through their books at replacement gas tanks for cars. Most cars now come with the same type of gas tank as above, but molded in many shapes and sizes. They do not rust. They do not weight much and the junk yard has many of them probably cheap. There are also quite large aux tanks for pickup trucks. You can also fabricate a very nice tank from aluminum sheet stock and rivet it together with aluminum rivets. TIG it together as you remove the rivets.

    Do you have contact info for this company ??...........I am considering a removable tank for extended

cross country range...........The Delta has a bench type rear seat that can be removed and provide a

flat spot for an easy 50 gal (or more) tank............Most of my flying will be solo and their would be room

for a tank this size plus a little baggage before getting into CG problems...........Do you recall the weight

of your 30 gal tanks (each) and approx cost ?..............My Delta has two 26 gal alum saddle tanks (low

in center fuselage) and an extra tank will fit next to the center spar (massive 4130 tube weld-ment) for

safe anchoring..........

They were from a specialty tank company in TX, this was an off the shelf design but they can apparently do anything.

Was that a tank you got custom made, or something off the shelf?
