Completely anecdotal reason & a psychological hangup on my part, but the memory of that award winning EZ going down with a (reportedly) failed electric fuel valve a few years ago is my motivation. I won't need the remote feature so anything that requires a physical action on my part anyway might as well not depend on power. One less component to carry, less wire, etc.

I like them because they can be remoted and operated electrically.  That was the

Has anyone looked into removing the motor from these valves & replacing
it with a simple handle?

Jim,

Do you have the part # for that valve handy?  I did a
search at JC Whitney and only came up with two valves
(4 port and 6 port) and they were both *motor* driven -
which means they have _no_ default condition.

JC Whitney has electric selector valves for trucks with two tanks.  Defaults
to one tank and the other is electrically selected.  I mean to use one for
master cutoff.  By plugging up one outlet or the other you can have a cutoff
that is electrically OFF or electrically ON.  Mine will be default ON and
electrically OFF.
They are pretty affordable ...
