The Sun Gears are splash lubricated in the Ross.  I think Tracy design his
such that they have an oil spray.
Unlike the Ross PSRU, Tracy's is properly lubricated - oil is fed into the center of that shaft and flows out through hole(s) in the sun gear and thus gets slung out on the planetary gears and ring gear. This is the way it's done in the transmission where these gears come from. The Ross tries to spary some oil onto the planeatry gears (blocked by the ring gear) and hopes some of the oil reaches the sun gear. If the planetary gears are not properly located and/or the ring gear is out-of-round you get galled sun gear and ring gears. More than you wanted to know...

In my Ross installation, I simply drilled a .035 hole in a #8 screw and screwed it into the 1/8" NPT alu fitting at the outlet block of the engine. Same reasoning as Ed's.
