Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Non-EFI fuel
systems
I had originally considered using a
carburetor instead of EFI, just for simplicity. (No high pressure fuel pumps,
fuel returns, etc). I was not sure how to handle the leaning reguirements that
go along with changes in altitude. I hadn't considered using an aircraft
carburetor.
If I were going to try
to use something other than EFI, it would absolutely be an Ellison throttle
body. I put one of those on my old RV-8, and it really worked
great, even when flying inverted :-) Nothing could possibly
be any simpler, though they aren't cheap.
Cheers,
Rusty (will fly for Argon)
Nice job on the intake manifold,
Rusty. Thanks for the info regarding the Ellison
throttlebody. Did it have a provision for leaning? (similar
to a standard aircraft carb)? Thanks. Paul
