Greetings,

Here I am at = the end of my=20 2nd week of vacation, with one week to go.  By this time, I thought = for=20 sure I'd have all the fabrication done, and would be assembling the = engine to=20 run.  As you can probably guess, I'm waaaaaaaaaay behind = schedule.  In=20 my own defense, I have to point out that I'm basically teaching myself = to use a=20 mill, lathe, and TIG welder, all while trying to make usable = parts.  OK,=20 it's sort of an insanity defense :-)

I managed to = make the two=20 EWP to AN12 adapters, as well as add an AN12 bung to the water pump=20 housing.  I also made a custom thermostat housing that has an AN12 = bung,=20 radiator cap, and pressure port.  The most recent project was the=20 intake.  It will be just like the one that Paul Conner has, only = with far=20 uglier welds.  Welding the thin soft tubing to the thick cast = aluminum was=20 the biggest welding challenge so far, and it shows.  I got to = practice=20 welding up a hole in the tubing a couple times.   I also have a few = pinhole=20 leaks that will need to be touched up,  and a stack of about a = dozen=20 contaminated tungstens that need to be reworked.  On top of that, = my Argon=20 bottle is nearly empty.  Maybe I'll have enough for the touch = ups=20 tomorrow, maybe not.

In other news,=20 I actually have my EM-2!  It arrived earlier in the week, = but I=20 have to admit that I haven't even really looked at it.  I = should have=20 plenty of time after March 31st, when Philips lays me off.  Perhaps = time to=20 go into business for myself.

Cheers,
Rusty (Beer, I = need=20 beer)
