Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Intake question

Wow Rusty, that is very strange.  That intake was sold to me already bolted onto my 4-port by Atkins.  I don't get the impression they do a great job, but still cant immaging they would be selling engine manifold combos that are that mis-alligned.

Maybe yours is actually a 6-port engine that has been ported open to 4-ports.  Is that possible?  Maybe it is an older 4-port?  Something is just not clicking right

Hi David,

Well, I think they made a 6 port manifold the lazy way, where they just left one big  hole for the secondaries, rather than two.  I would also have to guess that they figured this would be a one-size-fits-all manifold that could be used on a 4 or 6 port.  I'm just glad I wasn't the only one who didn't realized it didn't fit right :-)

In other news, me and the mill/lathe have been getting very well acquainted.  I'll even have another session with the TIG welder tomorrow.  We'll see if I can destroy the part I spent all day machining :-)  I'm still pretty psyched about being able to do all this myself.

Cheers,
Rusty (looks like I'm buying another project next week)

PS- Paul, UPS will bring you a gift tomorrow :-)

Thanks, Rusty....hope I can return the favor.  Paul
